My Challenge this Week for at least two days

Do something relaxing. Try a deep breathing exercise, take a bubble bath, sip on a cup of your favorite herbal tea, or you can just journal.

Doing breathing exercises has always been a struggle for me, even knowing the benefits. It pulls blood into the chest, improving the venous return to the heart, thereby improving your stamina for physical activity. It also enhances your immune cells, helps prevent infections of the lung, and helps lower your blood pressure. Deep breathing also stimulates the relaxation response, which results in less tension, giving you an overall sense of well-being.

I am not a fan of baths. I guess if I had a large claw-foot tub, I would enjoy it, but since my plain tub is a standard-issue, I’ll by-pass this suggestion.

Drinking herbal tea is no problem. I gave up coffee in January, so to warm me up, I enjoy a couple of cups a day. I drink either Yogi Lemon & Ginger tea or Tazo Wild Orange.

Something I started doing again this year is journaling. When I attended the “She Prevails” conference in August, I purchased an Arrivista Planner that has a journal element to it. I remember when I was in high school, I use to journal every day. Now, not too much. If I am not able to make daily entries in my planner, I use the Jour app. Every day it prompts you to answer questions, check-in with self-affirmations, or reflect on your dreams. A great way to express yourself.

What are your plans to relax this week?
